A gut-friendly probiotic yeast that is uniquely resistant to antibiotics. Unlike bacterial probiotics, which are largely inactivated during antibiotic treatment, S. boulardii maintains full efficacy when given alongside antibiotics to support normal gut function and microbiome stability.

CFU: The Number That Actually Matters
Not all probiotic supplements deliver a meaningful dose. CFU — colony-forming units — is the measure of how many viable probiotic organisms are in each serving, and it is the single most important number on a probiotic label.
Most pet probiotic products contain anywhere from 100,000 to a few million CFU. At those levels, the dose is unlikely to have any meaningful impact on gut function, regardless of the strain.
The clinical research on S. boulardii — the studies that established its efficacy for normal stool quality, gut barrier function, and microbiome support — used doses in the billions, not the millions. Any product dosed below that is a fundamentally different product operating below the threshold where the research-backed benefits have been demonstrated.
Shelf stability is the other half of the equation.
Bacterial probiotics are notoriously fragile. Exposure to moisture, air, and ambient temperature degrades viable CFU counts significantly over time — which is why many bacterial probiotic products require refrigeration, and why a product with 1 billion CFU at manufacture may deliver a fraction of that by the time it reaches your pet.
S. boulardii as a yeast is inherently more shelf-stable than bacterial strains. Its cell wall structure provides natural resistance to moisture and oxygen exposure, maintaining viable CFU counts through normal storage conditions without refrigeration.
